F1 FACTS: TOP 3 COUNTRIES IN TERMS OF WORLD DRIVERS’ CHAMPIONSHIPS

At this point, Formula 1 fans know that Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton are the all-time leaders in terms of World Drivers Championships, with seven titles for each driver. However, let us take a look at the countries at the top of the standings in terms of titles.

Great Britain has the most World Drivers’ Championships in Formula 1 history with 20 crowns distributed in 10 drivers. The 10 British drivers to win the Formula 1 title are Lewis Hamilton (7), Jackie Stewart (3), Jim Clark (2), Graham Hill (2), Mike Hawthorn, John Surtees, James Hunt, Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill and Jenson Button.

In second place behind Great Britain, we have Germany, with 12 Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championships and three F1 champions: Michael Schumacher (7), Sebastian Vettel (4), and Nico Rosberg.

In third place, Brazil has eight Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championships with Nelson Piquet (3), Ayrton Senna (3), and Emerson Fittipaldi (2).
