Alfa Romeo officially returned to the Formula 1 World Championship in the 2019 season, after the Sauber team was renamed.
The team won the first two World Drivers’ Championships in history, with Giuseppe Farina and Juan Manuel Fangio in 1950 and 1951, but it returned to Formula 1 in 1979, lasting until 1985 without much success.
The brand has entered 170 Grands Prix, and has 10 race victories, 26 podiums, 128 points and 12 Pole Positions. Of course, it also owns the two World Drivers’ Championships previously mentioned, in 1950 and 1951.
Alfa Romeo’s drivers in Formula 1 include its two champions, Farina and Fangio, obviously. Moreover, Mario Andretti, Kimi Raikkonen, Riccarod Patrese, Andrea de Cesaris, Eddie Cheever, and Luigi Fagioli (who shared a win with Fangio in the 1951 French Grand Prix).
