This is an exact replica of the helmet worn by Lewis Hamilton in the 2019 German Grand Prix at Hockenheim.

The Mercedes’ driver wore a special helmet for the team’s home race to celebrate 125 years of Mercedes-Benz motorsport. The design is similar to his regular 2019 helmet; however, a vintage look was added to the livery.

The helmet features white sides with red wings on each side painted in candy red with black flashes. Five starts can be seen on the sides to resemble the Englishman’s five Formula One championships. The five stars on each side were painted in gold for the special celebration.

In the upper area of the helmet, Hamilton’s car number (44) can be seen, painted in gold. Also, the logo of the 125 years celebration is in the top of the helmet.

In the back, there is a figure of the Brazilian Cristo Redentor created with red minimalist lines and the inscription “Still I Rise”, which Hamilton describes as an inspirational quote.

The lower area of the back features three classic Mercedes racing cars: the W196 which won the 1954 and 1955 F1 titles at the hands of Juan Manuel Fangio (left), the 1928 “White Elephant” Mercedes-Benz SSK (middle), and the W125 from 1937 (right).

In the 2019 German GP, Hamilton started in Pole Position, but mixed conditions did not help his chances and he finished ninth in the race
