This is an exact replica of the helmet worn by two-time Formula One World Champion Fernando Alonso during his debut year in 2001.
The helmet’s main aspect is a large band with the colors of the Spanish flag wrapping up the helmet from the visor, through the sides and merging in the back. Opposed to Alonso’s usual light blue, the top and the lower stripe of the head safety device are painted in navy blue.
The top features Alonso’s arrows, both painted in chromed silver like in every design of his F1 career. The Spanish driver said that he took the arrows from a toy he was gifted as a kid because the driver had the arrows on his helmet. The arrows are adorned with lighting white asteroids.
The blue sections are painted with a square pattern.
In his debut season, Alonso did not score points in 17 races with Minardi, however, but he showed his speed in qualifying against his two teammates. He beat Alex Yoong and Tarso Marques 15-2 in qualifying (12-2 against Marques and 3-0 against Yoong).
