This is an exact replica of one of the helmets worn by Alain Prost in the 1990 Formula 1 season.

For his first season with Ferrari, Prost elected to alter his helmet colors. The admiral blue of his traditional design was removed in favor of a denim blue. The sponsors are a noticeable aspect of the livery, however, the helmet has a clear resemblance to those from his McLaren years thanks to the Marlboro sponsorship.

In his debut year with Ferrari, Prost had another fight for the championship with his former teammate Ayrton Senna. Prost needed a win in the penultimate Grand Prix at Japan, but a crash with Senna in the first corner put an end to his hopes for a title with Ferrari.

The Frenchman won five races with the Scuderia in 1990.
