This is an exact replica of the helmet worn by Formula 1 champion Sebastian Vettel in the 2019 Monaco Grand Prix.
Following the death of Formula 1 legend Niki Lauda in the days leading to the race at Monaco, Vettel chose to pay a tribute to the Austrian champion. The homage was represented by an incredible helmet.
Vettel mixed his helmet design from the one Lauda wore during his Ferrari years. The helmet is painted in candy red and with Lauda’s name written on the sides. The German flag from the chin to the top from Vettel’s regular design remains on the helmet, while the back of the stripe is colored with three pictures.
The three photos are from the three races where Lauda clinched each of his three titles (the 1975 Italian Grand Prix, the 1977 US Grand Prix, and the 1984 Portuguese Grand Prix).
Lauda’s name is written in the top of the helmet too.
In the race, Vettel finished second behind Lewis Hamilton, who was also paying homage to the great Lauda.
