For his ninth season with Ferrari, Schumacher wore his traditional helmet design from the 2000 season, with the candy red as the main color. As a change from other designs from his 2004 collection, this helmet has a variation in the details of the German flag in the big horizontal stripe on the sides of the helmet, with the black stripe of the flag being significantly smaller to other designs of the same season.

For the 2004 Monza GP, Ferrari’s home race, Schumacher wore special helmet designs to pay homage to the Scuderia. The German flag on the sides of the helmet was removed and the Italian flag colors were deployed instead. The asteroids of the top of the helmet were painted in gold instead of white.

Schumacher wore two helmet designs during the weekend at Monza. The difference in the two helmets of that weekend can be seen in the tones of colors, especially the green at the back of the helmet.
