Hamilton’s ties to Brazil, such as his worship of Ayrton Senna, have always played a part in the English driver’s helmet collection for races at Interlagos and 2018 was not the exception. After achieving his fifth Formula 1 championship in Mexico in the previous race, Hamilton elected to make changes to his head protector’s design, with the Brazilian Cristo Redentor remaining in the helmet but holding the South American’s country flag, with two Senna’s “S” logos on each side and two blue and green stripes as a resemblance from those on Senna’s helmets.

The usual “Still I Rise” phrase is positioned below the Cristo Redentor figure. While the helmet’s main color remained white, the back was painted in canary yellow. The apple red stripes on each side remained, while a fifth star was added to commemorate Hamilton’s first race as a five-time Formula 1 World Champion.

In the top of the helmet, Hamilton’s red logo continues, while the 44 number is divided between a green stripe, a yellow stripe, a white line and a blue stripe, the colors of the Brazilian flag.

Hamilton arrived at Brazil looking to give Mercedes their fifth Constructor Championship in a row, and he did not disappoint. Hamilton qualified in first place on Saturday after a tight fight with Sebastian Vettel. Then, on race day, he took advantage of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen’s collision with Esteban Ocon to take the lead and take the victory home, the 72nd of his career.

The English racer’s victory, which gave Mercedes the Constructors’ title, was the tenth of the year, completing his fourth season in Formula 1 with at least 10 wins, and his second race win at Brazil, after his success at Interlagos in 2016.

This is an exact replica of the helmet worn by Lewis Hamilton in the 2018 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend.

The design’s main color changed from the predominant white during the 2018 season to a shining tone of gold. The five stars on each side of the head protector are to commemorate Hamilton’s five F1 World Drivers’ Championships.

The English driver’s usual 2018 helmet collection was predominantly white with stripes of apple red on the sides and yellow stripes on the back. For the Abu Dhabi edition, the apple red changed to cherry, while the yellow sections were painted in black.

The back of the helmet is stunning, with Hamilton’s figure being deployed with a “World Champion 2018” sign below and his signature “HAM” on top. Behind Hamilton’s image, another five stars were added, with the years of the British driver’s five Formula 1 titles and the phrase “Still I Rise”, which can be described as an inspirational quote for the British champion.

In the top, Hamilton’s logo can be seen along with his famous 44 number. 

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was the final race of the 2018 calendar. Hamilton, already crowned as the champion in Mexico, qualified in Pole Position on Saturday and won Sunday’s race with a 2.5 seconds gap to Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.

Hamilton closed the 2018 season with 11 victories, matching his career-high in wins in a single year (2014), 17 podiums, and eleven Pole Positions. That win was the 73rd in his F1 career.

This is an exact replica of the helmet worn by Lewis Hamilton in the 2018 British Grand Prix weekend.

Hamilton’s helmet for his home race in 2018 is a beauty. The reigning champion changed his usual white helmet collection for a golden one with references to his origins. The design kept the Brazilian Cristo Redentor on the back of the helmet, colored with shades of red and white. The “HAM” text color changed from black outlined with white, to white outlined with black.

The big change in the helmet is the inclusion of several designs of the Union Flag on various sections of the head protector, such as the back and front of the helmet. Also, the number 44 on top of the helmet is colored with the Union Flag.

The weekend was going really well for the only British driver of the 2018 grid, however, after starting from Pole Position alongside Sebastian Vettel, Hamilton’s car was spun around after contact with Kimi Raikkonen.

Hamilton had to settle with the second place in the race, ending his run of four consecutive wins at Silverstone and preventing him from becoming the first driver with six wins in the British GP.

This is an exact replica of the helmet worn by Lewis Hamilton in the 2018 Formula 1 season.

After returning to a yellow helmet in 2017, Hamilton elected to wear a white helmet for the 2018 campaign, with the same style he wore between 2014 and 2016. The fire yellow was removed as the main color of the helmet collection in favor of white, the red stripes on each side of the helmet were changed from four to three, but the design of each stripe was different to those of the previous season.

The Cristo Redentor, the “HAM” text, and the “Still I Rise” phrase remain in the back of the helmet, maintaining the design from 2017. However, the Cristo Redentor is made of red minimalists lines, while the inspirational quote is black instead of red like in 2017.

Instead of the three stars on each side of the 2017 helmet (which commemorated Hamilton’s three championships at the start of the 2017 season), two stars were added on each side of the head protector, accounting for Hamilton’s four titles at the start of the 2018 F1 campaign.

The English driver drove his fifth season with Mercedes and successfully repeated his prowess from the previous season, winning the championship in a dominant way, and possibly having his best year so far.

Hamilton won 11 races in 2018, scored 11 Pole Positions, and had 17 podiums. The British racer scored a total of 408 points, becoming the first driver to score at least 400 points in a year.
