The design looks to commemorate and honor Hamilton’s roots, from the Grenadian background to his family, to his British representation. The helmet maintains Hamilton’s typical lemon yellow of the early stages of his career while adding the Union Flag on the sides of the helmet.

The top of the head safety device is evenly divided between the Grenadian flag and the Union Flag. Three stars superimposed in the rose red sections of the sides of the helmet can be seen.

The livery does not show a big change from the regular 2010 design, but the roulette wheel on the top of the helmet is the most noticeable change. Hamilton chose that route to pay homage to one of Monaco’s most famous aspect while trying to improve his own luck since he did not have a single victory to that point in the 2010 championship.

The ball in the roulette ended up falling in Hamilton’s lucky number: 44.

Although the British racer was looking for a luck change, he started the race in fifth place and finished in the same spot.
