Another fantastic creation of the CM Helmets Team, this helmet combines two designs in one, one of the sides features the 1998 design of Michael Schumacher’s head protector, while the other has the 2011 livery worn by the German champion.

The livery of the 1998 helmet is white, with the big horizontal stripe colored with the German flag, and a checkered flag right next to the visor. Schumacher’s helmet for the 2011 Formula 1 season, his second with Mercedes, is colored in candy red, with details painted in silver. The back of the 2011 head protector features Chinese symbols, such as a dragon and a Chinese character which means power, among others.

The front of the helmet features half of the Mercedes logo, while half of the Ferrari logo (Schumacher’s 1998 team) can be seen in the back.

This is an exact replica of the helmet worn by F1 World Champion Mika Hakkinen in the 1998 season, when he won his first title.

Hakkinen’s typical helmet design, which he chose in his karting days, include the colors of the Finnish flag. The helmet is white with three stripes on the sides painted in three different tones of blue, going from lighter to deeper from the low stripe to the top one. The helmet contains a white halo on the top and the top is painted in indigo blue.

In 1993, Hakkinen won eight races and seal the World Drivers’ Championship in the 1998 Japanese Grand Prix with a great victory. Hakkinen became the second Finnish driver to win the F1 title after Keke Rosberg did it in 1982. Hakkinen beat Ferrari’s Michael Schumacher after a great battle in the whole season.

For the 1998 Suzuka GP, the final race of the season, Schumacher wore a special chromed helmet. Also, a checkered flag was added on both sides of the design, right next to the visor. The asteroids on the blue circle on top remained, while the stripe with the colors of the German flag was kept as a main part of Schumacher’s helmet collection.

For the race at Suzuka, Schumacher qualified in first place, but after his car stalled on the grid, he had to start the race from the back, which handed an easy race for Mika Hakkinen, who drove his McLaren-Mercedes to victory and achieved his first Formula 1 title.
