This is an exact replica of the helmet worn by F1 World Champion Nelson Piquet in the 1981 season.

Piquet’s traditional design during his F1 years was a red helmet with white details resembling the seam on a tennis ball (the sport he played as a teenager) and raindrops inside the white areas of the design (top and sides).

In 1981, Piquet won his first Formula 1 title after a great battle with Argentine Carlos Reutemann. Piquet won the championship in the last race at Las Vegas after winning three races in the year.
