The third race of the 2022 Formula 1 season will be the 2022 Australian Grand Prix at the Albert Park Circuit, at Melbourne. After the three Practice sessions, we only have Qualifying and the Grand Prix ahead of us at Australia.
Australia is set to return to the Formula1 World Championship for the first time since 2019, as the race could not go ahead in the last two years due to the covid-19 pandemic.
Valtteri Bottas is the most recent winner of the Grand Prix, as he won for Mercedes in the 2019 edition. The Australian Grand Prix has existed even before the current World Championship started in 1950 (1928), but the race has been under the Formula 1 umbrella since 1985.
At first, the Australian GP was celebrated at Adelaide and it was always the final race of the calendar. In 1996, Melbourne started hosting the event, and it has traditionally been the first race of the calendar, excluding certain exceptions, such as 2022.
The most successful driver in the Australian Grand Prix is Michael Schumacher, with four wins (all with Ferrari at Melbourne), while McLaren is the most successful constructor, with 11 wins.
The race will be celebrated on April 10th.
