MICHAEL SCHUMACHER’S WHITE HELMET FROM THE 1990S

93

The legendary Michael Schumacher wore tremendous helmets during his illustrious Formula 1 career. Of course, every Formula 1 fan will remember his lovely red helmet from his glory days with Ferrari between 2000 and 2006 and also the one from his Mercedes days.

However, the seven-time Formula 1 champion wore a beautiful white helmet from his early Formula 1 seasons until the 2000 European Grand Prix. Though the white design was his traditional helmet and the one with which he won his first two Drivers’ titles with Benetton, Schumacher changed the design because it was quite similar to the one worn by his new teammate in the 2000 season at Ferrari, Rubens Barrichello.

Schumacher entered Formula 1 in the 1991 Belgian Grand Prix and displayed his famous white helmet with the German flag across the sides.

Though he added some different images to the design over the years, its essence remained over the years, even in his first unlucky seasons with Ferrari. Also, the change from white to red was received with some skepticism by some of his fans, as he retired from four of his first five races with the red design.

Ultimately, each of Schumacher’s designs worked just fine for him.
