Lewis Hamilton won a thrilling 2021 Russian Grand Prix on mixed weather conditions to take the 100th win of his illustrious Formula 1 career in tremendous fashion. The British driver won the race ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz.
It is Hamilton’s fifth win of the 2021 Formula 1 campaign and it helped him retake the lead of the World Drivers’ Championship standings, two points ahead of Verstappen.

The win was also Mercedes’ eighth consecutive triumph at the Russian Grand Prix in the same number of editions since 2014. It was Hamilton’s fifth win at Sochi, while the other three victories came from Valtteri Bottas (2017 and 2020) and Nico Rosberg (2016).
