Sergio Pérez won the 2022 Singapore Grand Prix for Red Bull and took the fourth win of his Formula 1 career.
The Mexican driver had a brilliant race after starting from P2 on the grid and controlled the event from the start, when he overtook Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in the first few meters of the Grand Prix.
Leclerc finished second after starting from Pole Position and his teammate Carlos Sainz was third, ahead of the McLaren pair of Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo. Aston Martin scored points with both cars, as Lance Stroll finished sixth and Sebastian Vettel eighth.

Championship leader Max Verstappen had a bad weekend and finished seventh for Red Bull, but he is likely to win the title in the upcoming race at Japan. Lewis Hamilton saved two points for Mercedes in a horrible race for the team and drivers, as Hamilton and Russell both made mistakes in the rainy conditions.
Pierre Gasly was 10th for AlphaTauri.
Now, Verstappen leads the championship with 104 points over Leclerc and 106 against his teammate Pérez.
Pérez has now won two races on street circuits and wet conditions this year (Monaco and Singapore) and has won two races in a year for the first time in his career. He has won three races for Red Bull, including the 2021 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, and his previous win came with Racing Point in the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix.
