To further enhance Mercedes’ struggles, George Russell had to retire from the race due to an imminent risk of engine failure due to oil temperature. However, it was still likely that Russell would have finished the race out of the points regardless of the situation.
Moreover, Red Bull continued its huge dominance over the rest of the grid as Max Verstappen won in Brazil, giving Red Bull 19 wins in 20 races this year.
