The third Miami Grand Prix in F1 history was celebrated on May 5th and the sixth race of the 2024 Formula 1 season will be remembered for a long time for McLaren fans and, especially, Lando Norris fans.
Max Verstappen won the previous two editions in 2022 and 2023 and was the clear favorite to win a third consecutive race in Miami for Red Bull. However, great pace and a well-placed Safety Car helped Norris, who finally became a Formula 1 Grand Prix winner.
Moreover, the race was the 77th F1 Grand Prix celebrated in the United States, under several different names. It was also the first of three different races we will see in the US during the 2024 F1 season, with the US and Las Vegas Grand Prix taking place near the end of the F1 calendar.
The event was held in the Miami International Autodrome, a 5.412 km circuit in Miami Gardens. The weekend saw the second straight Sprint format, with Verstappen winning the Sprint on Saturday.
