Silverstone hosted the first-ever Formula 1 race in 1950 and will host the next one, as the 10th race of the 2022 season will be here during the upcoming weekend.
The race comes off after Max Verstappen won the Canadian Grand Prix to put up a 46-point gap in the World Drivers’ Championship over his teammate Sergio Pérez, who will probably not be allowed to fight for the title on equal terms anyway.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is certainly Verstappen’s only threat for the WDC, but the Monegasque has not found any luck this season and is 49 points behind Red Bull’s Dutchman.
Last season, Sir Lewis Hamilton won the British Grand Prix after a late overtake on Leclerc into the Copse corner. This season, the seven-time F1 champion will find it difficult to win at home again, with Mercedes’ W13 car being hard to prepare for race weekends.
The race will be celebrated on July 3rd at the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire, UK.
