The 16th race of the 2020 Formula 1 season will be again at Bahrein. The 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix will be celebrated this Sunday.
The track used for this event will be the outer layout of the Bahrain International Circuit. The track length is 3.543 km and we already saw laps under one minute in the first sessions of practice.
This will be the third different layout used in the Bahrain International Circuit, as the Endurance, 6.299 km layout celebrated the 2010 Bahrain GP.
Lewis Hamilton will not be competing this weekend, as he tested positive for Covid-19. In his place, George Russell will compete for Mercedes, and Russell’s Williams seat will be taken by the team’s reserve driver Jack Aitken.
Moreover, Romain Grosjean will not race after his scary crash in last weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix. The Frenchman suffered minor burns on his hands and is still recovering. He is in the F1 paddock and even had the time to share a beautiful moment with the people which helped him walk away from a life-threatening accident last Sunday.
Pietro Fittipaldi, grandson of two-time World Champion Emerson, will race in place of Grosjean.
Russell, for Mercedes, has a huge chance in front of him to show what he is capable of and maybe join the elite class of current Formula 1 racers.
The race will take place in December 6th.
